Terms of Use & Software License Agreement

These Terms of Use & Software License Agreement (“Terms”) govern your download, installation, registration, activation, and use of the StashPaste macOS application (“StashPaste”, the “Software”, or the “App”).

Please read these Terms carefully. By downloading, installing, registering, activating, or using StashPaste, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. Who These Terms Are With

These Terms form an agreement between you and the supplier and licensor operating the StashPaste brand (“StashPaste”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

StashPaste is the developer and licensor of the Software. Free Version 1 license registration may be handled through the third-party provider described in Section 9.

If you use StashPaste on behalf of a business or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to use the Software in that context. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, each personal StashPaste license remains assigned to one individual user.

2. Version 1 and the Meaning of a Perpetual License

For these Terms, “Version 1” or “v1” means any StashPaste release whose major version number is 1, including releases such as:

1.0.0, 1.6.3, 1.20.4, and other 1.x.x releases.

Subject to compliance with these Terms, a valid Version 1 license grants a perpetual, non-expiring right to use StashPaste Version 1 without payment of a license fee. No license fee will ever be required to continue using a valid Version 1 license.

“Perpetual” means that your valid Version 1 license does not expire merely because a fixed period of time has passed.

It does not mean that:

• ownership of StashPaste or its intellectual property is transferred to you;
• StashPaste must remain compatible with every future version of macOS or future hardware indefinitely;
• technical support, personal assistance or troubleshooting is included;
• future development, maintenance, bug fixes, security updates or a specific update schedule is promised;
• download, update or licensing infrastructure, including Lemon Squeezy, must operate forever;
• any service-level agreement or guaranteed response time is provided; or
• future major versions must be provided free of charge.

Your right to use a valid Version 1 license is separate from future operating-system compatibility.

3. License Grant

After obtaining and activating a valid free Version 1 license, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable only as provided by these Terms, non-sublicensable, and non-transferable-to-another-person license to install and use StashPaste Version 1.

The license is assigned to one individual user associated with the license registration.

You may use StashPaste for:

• personal use;
• professional use;
• freelance work;
• use on a work Mac;
• use in connection with your employment; and
• other lawful commercial activities.

A company or organization may obtain a free license for an individual user. A single personal license may not be shared among multiple employees, contractors, family members, or other users.

Multiple individual users require separate licenses unless we expressly offer a different license type.

4. Devices and License Mobility

One personal license may be activated on up to three Mac computers at the same time.

The Macs may be personal or work devices, provided that the Software is used by the licensed user.

You may replace or change your devices at any time by deactivating an existing Mac and activating another Mac using the license-management functionality provided by StashPaste.

Changing devices does not transfer the license to another person.

You may not intentionally circumvent activation limits, share your license key for use by another person, or use technical measures to exceed the permitted number of simultaneous activations.

Reasonable license-verification and anti-abuse mechanisms may be used to enforce these limits.

5. Version 1 Updates and Future Major Versions

Any StashPaste 1.x.x update that we choose to make generally available remains within the existing Version 1 license and does not require a license fee. This includes any bug fixes, security updates, maintenance releases or minor feature updates that we choose to publish.

Nothing in these Terms requires us to develop, release, maintain or continue any particular update, feature or Version 1 release, or to provide technical support, compatibility work or security remediation within a guaranteed timeframe, except to the extent that applicable mandatory law requires updates or remedies.

Continued functionality may depend on:

• supported versions of macOS;
• Apple hardware and platform technologies;
• APIs and frameworks provided by Apple;
• third-party software, integrations and external licensing infrastructure; and
• security or technical changes outside our reasonable control.

A future major version, such as StashPaste Version 2, may be released as a separate product or optional paid upgrade.

Obtaining a Version 1 license does not automatically entitle you to Version 2 or later major versions.

No Forced Upgrade

The release of StashPaste Version 2 or any later major version does not, by itself:

• terminate your valid Version 1 license;
• convert your Version 1 license into a subscription;
• require you to obtain the newer version; or
• invalidate your right to continue using Version 1 on compatible systems.

6. 7-Day Registration Grace Period

New installations may use the full App immediately during a 7-day registration grace period before activating a valid free Version 1 license.

No payment or payment method is required. No fee is charged when the grace period ends, and no subscription begins.

After the seven-day period, use requires activation of a valid $0 Version 1 license. Registering the license does not create an entitlement to technical support or a guarantee that future updates will be released. Any generally available 1.x.x update remains covered by the free Version 1 license.

The end of the grace period does not, by itself, delete your locally stored clipboard history, although access to certain history features may remain restricted until activation.

We may use reasonable technical measures to prevent repeated grace-period resets, automated registration abuse or circumvention of registration and activation requirements.

7. Permitted Use and Restrictions

You may use StashPaste only in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

You may not:

• sell, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, or publicly redistribute your license key;
• share one personal license among multiple users;
• publish or distribute the Software except through an authorized StashPaste distribution method;
• circumvent license activation, registration grace-period, device, or technical protection mechanisms;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the Software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits such activity despite this restriction;
• remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
• impersonate StashPaste or falsely represent that a modified product is an official StashPaste release;
• use the Software in violation of applicable law, sanctions, export restrictions, or regulations.

Nothing in this section restricts rights that applicable law expressly provides and does not permit the parties to waive by contract.

8. Clipboard Content, Local Data, and Security

StashPaste is designed as a local clipboard productivity tool.

Clipboard history and clipboard content handled by the App are designed to remain stored locally on your Mac rather than being uploaded or synchronized to StashPaste-operated cloud storage.

StashPaste does not operate a cloud clipboard-history synchronization service.

Certain non-content functions may require network communication, including functions such as:

• license activation or validation;
• checking for or downloading software updates;
• opening StashPaste web pages; or
• other functionality you explicitly initiate.

Such technical communications are separate from your locally stored clipboard content.

Additional information about data handling is provided in the StashPaste Privacy Policy.

Sensitive Information

StashPaste may include features designed to reduce the accidental capture of clipboard content from supported password managers or other excluded applications.

These protections are convenience and security features, but no software security mechanism should be treated as infallible.

Changes to macOS, third-party applications, clipboard behavior, configuration, or other factors outside our control may affect exclusion behavior.

You remain responsible for deciding what sensitive information you copy and store.

StashPaste is not a replacement for a dedicated password manager, secure credential vault, or independent backup system.

Do not rely on StashPaste as the sole permanent storage location for passwords, recovery codes, private keys, important documents, or other irreplaceable information.

9. License Registration Provider

Free Version 1 license registration may be handled through Lemon Squeezy.

The Version 1 registration flow is for issuance and administration of a $0 license, with no payment or subscription required. Lemon Squeezy may process contact information and registration, license and device-activation information necessary to issue and manage that license. Information handling is described in our Privacy Policy.

Lemon Squeezy’s own applicable service terms and privacy practices may apply when you use its service. Those terms govern its service separately; the StashPaste Software is licensed under these Terms. A free Version 1 registration does not require a payment transaction.

10. No Technical-Support or Maintenance Agreement

Subject to mandatory applicable law, the perpetual Version 1 license grants a continuing right to use the licensed Version 1 software on compatible systems. It does not constitute a maintenance, technical-support, update or future-development agreement.

The license does not include a contractual obligation to provide technical assistance, personalized troubleshooting, consulting, bug fixes, feature implementation, maintenance, compatibility updates, security remediation within a guaranteed timeframe, upgrades, future releases or guaranteed response times.

You may contact the developer with licensing, privacy or legal questions, security reports or general messages. Providing a contact channel or responding voluntarily does not create a technical-support service, an ongoing assistance obligation or a service-level agreement.

Optional Ko-fi Tips

Any Ko-fi tip is a completely optional financial contribution, separate from downloading, license registration, activation and use of StashPaste. It provides no StashPaste product entitlement.

Someone who gives nothing has exactly the same Version 1 entitlement as someone who makes one-time, repeated or recurring monthly tips. Tips do not unlock features, licenses, activation, updates, higher device limits, services, priority assistance or technical support. A tip does not oblige us to develop, maintain or release software.

Mandatory consumer rights, statutory guarantees, remedies and liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

11. Consumer Rights and Statutory Withdrawal Rights

If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights under the law applicable to you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer right, statutory guarantee, warranty, remedy, right of withdrawal, conformity right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable law.

If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Australia, or another jurisdiction with mandatory digital-content or consumer-protection rules, those mandatory rights apply in addition to these Terms.

Offering Version 1 free of charge does not, by itself, remove mandatory protections where they apply.

12. Intellectual Property

StashPaste is licensed, not sold.

Except for third-party software, open-source components, frameworks, libraries, fonts, trademarks, or other materials that remain subject to their respective owners and licenses, all rights, title, and interest in and to StashPaste are retained by StashPaste and its licensors.

This includes, where applicable:

• source code and object code;
• software architecture;
• user-interface elements;
• graphics and original assets;
• branding;
• trademarks;
• documentation; and
• other original intellectual property.

Obtaining a free license gives you the right to use the Software as described in these Terms.

It does not transfer ownership of the underlying Software or intellectual property to you. Free-of-charge licensing does not make StashPaste public domain, open source or copyright-free.

“StashPaste” and associated branding may not be used in a way that falsely implies endorsement, partnership, or an official relationship without permission.

13. Third-Party Software and Platforms

StashPaste depends on technologies that may be provided by third parties, including operating-system functionality and software frameworks.

Third-party components may be governed by separate license terms.

StashPaste is designed for supported versions of macOS, but Apple may change, remove, restrict, or replace operating-system APIs, security mechanisms, hardware capabilities, or other functionality on which the Software depends.

We cannot guarantee that a particular StashPaste release will remain compatible with every future operating system, computer, third-party application, or platform configuration.

Apple, macOS, Touch ID, and other third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Unless expressly stated otherwise, StashPaste is not affiliated with or endorsed by those third parties.

14. Warranty Disclaimer

This section applies only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this section excludes statutory warranties, consumer guarantees, conformity obligations, remedies, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to those mandatory rights, StashPaste is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not warrant that the Software will:

• operate without interruption;
• be completely free of bugs or errors;
• work with every Mac configuration or third-party application;
• remain compatible with all future macOS releases;
• preserve data permanently, recover lost data or remain free of security defects; or
• meet every individual workflow or requirement.

StashPaste is a productivity utility, not a permanent archival, backup, disaster-recovery, credential-management, or data-preservation service.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate independent backups of information that is important to you.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.

In particular, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where liability cannot legally be limited, death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited, mandatory product liability, or any other liability or consumer remedy that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

Subject to the foregoing, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

StashPaste and its developers, licensors, and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or relating to your use or inability to use the Software.

This may include, where legally permitted:

• lost profits;
• lost business opportunities;
• workflow interruption;
• loss of goodwill; or
• loss or corruption of data.

The absence of a Version 1 license fee does not, by itself, exclude liability or reduce any non-waivable remedy to zero.

The limitations in this section do not apply to the extent prohibited by mandatory law.

16. Termination

Your valid Version 1 license does not expire merely because time passes.

However, we may terminate a license if you materially breach these Terms, including through:

• unauthorized resale or redistribution;
• deliberate sharing of a personal license among multiple users;
• intentional circumvention of activation or licensing protections;
• fraudulent use; or
• other serious violations of the license restrictions.

Where reasonable and appropriate, we may provide an opportunity to correct a breach before termination.

After termination of a license, you must stop using the Software under that license.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property protections and applicable liability provisions.

17. Changes to the Software

We may improve, modify, remove, replace, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for reasons such as:

• security;
• privacy;
• legal compliance;
• operating-system compatibility;
• technical maintenance;
• product development; or
• changes to third-party platforms.

Such modifications remain subject to applicable mandatory consumer rights, including conformity obligations, required updates, and remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

We will not intentionally use a Version 1 software update merely to:

• introduce a license fee for Version 1 or convert an existing Version 1 perpetual license into a recurring subscription;
• invalidate a valid Version 1 license solely to require an upgrade to Version 2; or
• retroactively remove the fundamental Version 1 licensing rights expressly granted in these Terms.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, product functionality, licensing infrastructure, security requirements, or business operations.

The current version will be published with an updated revision date.

Changes will apply prospectively to the extent required by applicable law and will not remove already-acquired mandatory consumer rights, including applicable conformity and update rights.

We will not use a later version of these Terms to introduce a license fee for Version 1, retroactively convert an existing Version 1 perpetual license into a subscription or remove the core Version 1 license rights already granted to you.

Material changes affecting existing users may be communicated through the App, website, email, or another reasonable method where appropriate.

19. Assignment

Your personal license may not be sold, sublicensed, or transferred to another individual unless we expressly permit it.

You may freely move your license between your own permitted devices in accordance with the three-device activation limit.

We may transfer or assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to a successor, affiliated entity, or purchaser of the StashPaste business or relevant assets, provided that doing so does not materially reduce the rights already granted under your valid Version 1 license.

20. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, without excluding any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of habitual residence where those protections apply and cannot lawfully be waived by agreement.

Nothing in these Terms requires a consumer to bring a claim exclusively in Bulgaria where applicable mandatory law gives that consumer the right to bring proceedings in another competent jurisdiction.

21. Language and Translations

These Terms were originally prepared in English.

We may provide translations into other languages to make these Terms easier to understand.

The English version is the authoritative reference version in the event of an inconsistency or ambiguity between translations, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If mandatory consumer law requires contractual information to be provided, interpreted, or enforced in a particular language, or provides rules for resolving ambiguity in favor of the consumer, those mandatory requirements apply.

Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

22. Severability and No Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permissible or, where necessary, severed from these Terms.

The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we permanently waive the right to enforce it later.

23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement governing your license and use of StashPaste.

Your use of Lemon Squeezy for free license registration may additionally be governed by the applicable terms presented by that provider.

Our Privacy Policy governs the handling of personal information associated with StashPaste.

Mandatory rights granted by applicable law remain unaffected.
